Trade and Industry.
The trade of New South Wales more than quintupled in the period 1850-68 ; but the imports into the colony increased at a lesser ratio than the exports. The total value of the imports in 1850 amounted to 2,078,338/., and in 1868 to 8,051,377/. The exports in 1850 were valued at 1,038,340/., and in 1868 at 7,192,904/.
