From Subashiri to Kiga.—The ordinary route from Subashiri to the coast is by Mishima; but you may proceed direct to Kiga (Valley of Miyanoshita) by Gotenba and pass of Senko Kubara which is very high and one of the worst roads possible to be seen.

From Kiga to Tokio.—The rest of the return journey to Yokohama and Tokio is well-known; therefore we limit ourselves to the account given above.
