THURSDAY EVENING.
Mos? merciful and gracious Lord, onr heavenly Father, who art infinite
in mercy, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin, we desire to approach Thee thia evening, and to adore Thee for the comforts and blessings bestowed upon us thronghont another day. Look down, we beseech Thee, upon Thy unworthy servants—unworthy, indeed, of the least of all Thy favours—who heave so repeatedly transgressed Thy holy lawa, and acted in opposition to Thy divine injunctions; deal not with ue according to our evils, rebuke us in Thy love, and chasten us in Thy mercy, and give us grace that we may be able to resist evil for the futere. Assist us to perform true repentance, and instruct us in its real nature and quality, that wa may from henceforth preserve the straight and narzow path of duty, and be able to advance in the regeneration. Lord, we desire to thank Thes for the many displays of Thy glory in the creation of the world, and in the ereation of ourselves as # world in miniature.
May Thy love ba aa a sun in the inmost of our souls, and warm us with gratitude for all Thy mercies. May Thy light quicken ail the powers of our understandings! May the knowledge of Thy wonderworking 'power lead us to the adoration of Thy glérious Person, and ail this family, and every family, glorify Thee for permitting us to bear Thy imuge and likeness. Amen,

FRIDAY MORNING.
O THOU who sittest enthroned in light and glory ineffable. Thou who art the only God of heaven and earth, and before whom all angels bow in profound humility and adoration: Saviour, Redeemer, and Regenerator! permit us, all unworthy as we are, to acknowledgs and adore Thee, the fountain of mercy. Thou didst descend from on high to save us, and of Thy fulness have we all been made partakers. Every dey increases the sum of our obligations as it sees the renewal of Thy mercies. O grant that we may this day serve Thee in newness of spirit. Thou addest to our existence, that we may be the better prepared for the enjoyment of Thy kingdom, when we shall have finished our work here. O help us that we may improve the time allotted to us, remembering that the days are evil. While our bodies require to be nurtured by a portion of the bread that perisheth, and to procure this bread requires a continuance of toil and labour, may we never neglect labouring for the bread which endureth unto everlasting life. To secure this was the chief design of our being placed in this world.
Help us to become of the number of those who compose Thy true Church on earth, and O hasten the period when Thy Church shall extend itself and enlarge its borders. May the world be prepared for the outpouring of the truth of Thy new dispensation, so that iniquity may cease, and the principles of goodness and truth universally prevail. Hear us, O Lord Jesus Christ, for Thy name and mercy sake.—Amen.
