in the pillar of a cloud, or in a pillar of fire. Impress us with a deep sense of the responsibility we are under to Thee. May we be kept in remembrance that every talent Thou hast bestowed upon us has been given for a good purpose, and it is our duty so to use it, that we may not in the end be placed among the wicked and unprofitable servants.

As Thou hast added unto our existense another day, O grant us Thy divine assistance, that we may faithfully perform the duties thereof, that we may give due diligence to our engagements; and while we give heed to seeking "first the kingdom of God and His righteousness," may we follow the example of Thee our great Saviour, who, while tabernacling in the flesh, spent Thyself in going about doing good to all. May we remember that our life is designed by Thee to be spent in charity and usefulness, and we shall best exhibit onr obedience to the precept, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Help us faithfully to perform the duties of our respective callings. O make us faithful and trustworthy to those who employ us, and whether our condition be lowly or exalted, may we faithfully perform all its duties, looking unto Thee for assistance, from whom alone cometh our help. Amen.

THURSDAY EVENING.

(0 LORD Godand Saviour. Thy compassionate voice is still heard call ing unto us, "O man, where art thou?" Truly have we been afraid, for we have sinned, and we have hid ourselves from Thee; and when we had given ourselves up for lost, and hope had forsaken us, even then Thy love songht us ont. Thou didst not leave us te perish: Thou didst devise a way whereby the path to happiness might be again opened ap; and. O amazing love! in the very depths of our degradation Thy sacred word went forth, that "the Seed of the woman should brnise the serpent's head,'* and the sensual principle in man should again be brought under the government of the apiritual principle.

Adored be the infinity of Thy love. O Lord. Thou hast not forgotten us in our low estate. "In Thy love and in Thy pity Thou hast visited and redeemed us, and hast become our Saviour." And now all are invited to come unto Thee: all may drink of the water of life freely; all may tako of the bread which cometh down from heaven, and eat, and live for ever.

We glorify Thee, our Lord and Redeemer, that Thon hast raised us fo newness of spirit. We rejoice in Thy presence. We magnify Thy name, for it is holy. Be Thy holy name adored. O Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord assist us, that our hearts may be consecrated to Thy service; render us living temples, in which Thou mayest take up Thine abode. So shall we dwell under the shadow of Thy wings, and ultimately enler into everlasting rest. We ask this. O Lord Jesus Christ, for Thy name and mercy's sake. Amen.

Our Father, ete.
