our constant monitor, to love one another, even as Thou hast loved us. May Thy love enlarge our hearts, and fill them with desires to serve Thee with interior affection, and with fervency of spirit. May we ever evince a desire to do good to all with whom we are called to associate. Fortitied by Thy truth, and filled with an ardent desire to disseminate it, may we be diligent in labouring to convert the erring, and, by offices of tenderness and Christian love, lead those who associate with us to adore and worship Thee, as God over all, blessed for evermore. Finally, O Lord, enable us this day to live in Thy love and fear. Assist us to become examples to our fellow-men, and grant that we may be so endowed by Thee, as to let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father who is in heaven. Amen.

SATURDAY EVENING.

O GRACIOUS Saviour, we pray that we may be deeply impressed with the uncertainty of natural existence, that we "may be as servants who wait for their master." But yet. O Lord, we pray that there may be within us an humble cheerfulness, which shall at all times enjoy with gratitude the blessings bestowed upon us in this world, while we feel a perfect willingness to depart when Thou shalt call us. May our eyes be constantly set heavenward. May there be a constant endeavour on our parts to be fitted for the enjoyments of that better land, where those who have been brought out of great tribulation now are, beholding Thee in the plenitude of Thy love, and participating in the fulness of heaven's blessedness.

In this closing act of the week, we desire, in reviewing our mercies, ¢o express our heart-felt gratitude. How great are the blessings we have enjoyed! To our food and raiment, our health and strength, our comfortable habitation, with the blessings and enjoyments of natural existence, there must be added those most inestimnble blessings—the gift of Thy holy Word, the knowledge of its spiritual contents, the certainty of a future state of happiness and glory; and joys await us in the eternal world, which have not entered into the heart of man to conceive. For these. O Lord, assist us to prepare ourselves; for without Thee we can do nothing. Amen.

THIRTY-EIGHTH WEEK.—SABBATH MORNING.

O LORD our heavenly Father, as Thou hast granted us a glimpse of the wonders of Thy Word and kingdom, displayed through the medium of its spiritual sense, may we feel fervently grateful that we are permitted to participate in so great salvation.

By the duties required to be performed in the representative Church. Thou hast instructed us what our duties are in Thy spiritual Church. We are taught that the law given by Moses was designed to be our schoolmaster, to bring us unto Christ,

Morning and evening was incense commanded to be offered unto Thee; so is our duty defined. Morning and evening ought we to
