A GLORIFICATION TO BE USED ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF ' THE LORD'S RESURRECTION.
LMIGHTY Lord God, who hast taken to Thee Thy great power and reigned, with deep and heart-folt gratitude we approach Thee this morning. Not only do we praise Thee for this day, as a day of rest, but as a day of divine memorial; memorial of the greatest of victories, a victory over death and heli, and over all the powers of tha enemies of man; @ victory by which is assured unto ue eternal life and bleasedness; a victory which crowns all our bopes of happiness: because Thou livest we shall live also. .

Great and omnipotent Redeemer, how can wa, weak and feeble as we are, express our ideas of the wondrous work of redemption, and of the still more wondrous work of glorification! We can indeed mark Thy progress through the sacred narratives of the gospel; we can read of all the dire temptations which infested Thee; we can behold Thee as 4 man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; we can behold—({O that our eyes were fountains of water, if, by the shedding of tears, we could express eur contrition!)—how direful must have been the evil into which we had plunged ourselves, to induce such temptations ag were undergone by Thee, the last and most cruel being the passion of the cross; we can bow oursclyes in deep humiliation for our sins; we can implore aid in this sickness of the soul, that wd may be healed. We can hate ourselves for the bitter selfishness of our character, and can at all times draw near to Thee for grace to help us in our every time of need; but Thy wondrous jove in our redemption is past finding out, and the stupendous work of Thy glorification is too high for ua, we cannot attain to any exalted knowledge of it.
But still we can exert all our feeble powers to magnify Thee, for Thou art the Saviour of all that helieve. Thy unsullied goodness the celestial angels cannot approach. Even to their pure love Thou requirest to accommodate Thyself. Thy countenance is as the sun, shining in his strength, and the spiritual angels behold Thee as, accommedated to their states. Thou clothest Thyself with light se with a garment.
Through the power and glory of Thy Word. Thou revealest Thyself to all as they are able to bear it; but over all Thy glory there is a defence. Thy divine humanity is accommodated to the humblest of Thy creatures. Ail have now access unto Thee, and every one that feareth Thee and yworketh righteousness is accepted of Thee. Unto Thee shali all the ends of the earth look, and shall be saved, for Thou art our God, we will exalt Thes,—our Redeemer, we wilt magnify Thy name! Thon art the Lord of life and glory! Thy name is Jehovah of hosts| Thou art the wonderful, counseller, the Father of eternity, the only wise God our Saviour; and to Thee be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen,
