inheritance, and of our cup! Thou maintsinest our lot, and as we set Thee ever before us. Thou wilt be at our right hand. Thou wilt meet ull our spiritual opponents: each trial to which we are exposed will tend only te our increased purification, and when Thou hast tried us and purified us as silver purified in & furnace of earth, we shall rise upward and have a goodly heritages in Thy heavenly kingdom. THURSDAY EVENING.
LORD Jesus Christ, in whom alone we live, and move, and have our being, we approach Thee as the only wise God our Saviour. We praise Thy name for ever and ever. May the whole earth he fillod with Thy glory, and all the families of mankind unite with the innumerable hosta of the blessed in magnifying Thy goodness, and raising and perpetuating the song of triumph, " Hallelujah! for the Lord God, the Omnipotent, reigneth,"
O Lord, we trust only in Thy name. In Thy favour is life. Fhou hast dealt bountifully with us. May our evening prayers ascend anto Thee with fervid sincerity; may we acknowledge the guiding of Thy divine providence, and rest our souls' happiness on Thy love ang mercy. In whom can we repose so much confideuce? Who han stood by us like unto Thee, 0 Lord? When trouble has come upon us in this world. Thou hast approved Thyeelf unto us a friend that sticketh closer than a brother; and we can with truth, as we ought with gratitude, exclaim, " Hitherto the Lord hath helped ust"
© Lord, we went forth te our labour this morning depending upon Thina aid and protection, and fecling that Thou wouldst impart unto us all needful assistance in the accumplishment of our varied duties; and Thy providence has sustained us,—we have again proved Thy faithfulness; and as our day has heen, so has been our strength. And now that we assemble around our family altar, to offer our evening sacrifice and to call upon Thy name, wo with gratitude acknowledge that Thy mercies are ever new towards us, and that Thou preservest as alike from the arrow that flieth by night, and from 'the destruction that wasteth at noon-day." Glory be to Thy holy name. O Lord, our Redeemer. Amen.

FRIDAY MORNING.
O LORD God Almighty, to whom alone belongeth mercy, we wait upon Thee this morning; Thou art our help and our shield, "our buckler, the horn of our salvation, and our high tower." Thou hast preserved us amidst innumerable unseen perils which compass our path; and from the image of natural death. Thou hast awakened us, filled us with Thy spirit, and brought us to glorify Thy name in the cheerful light of another day. And never has Thy watchfulness intermitted, for Thy angels encamp about our dwellings to deliver all those that trust in Thee.
On Thy providence have we hitherto depended, and goodness and mercy have followed us all the days of our life.
Lord, we beseech Thee, enable us to reflect for what purpose we are
