one another's feet." O Lord, we adore Thee for Thy divine condescension, and, looking on the magnificence of the starry heavens, and knowing all this to be the work of Thy fingers, we are lost in admiration that Thou shouldst so far remember man as to clothe Thyself with his very body, that by glorification, all, yea, the humblest of the humble, might have conjunction with Thee, and be one with Thee as Thou art one with the Father.
Nor are Thy wonders only visible in the worlds above us. "They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; these see Thy works. O Lord! Thy wonders in the deep."
We marvel at its comparatively boundless extent. Nor are the multitudinous beings who inhabit it less wonderful than the element itself; and yet Thou holdest the waters in the hollow of Thy hand. Those fearful billows which cause the ship to rock to and fro, which make the hearts of the mariners sink within them for fear, which send them aloft to heaven, which plunge them again into the deep, so that their souls melt because of trouble,—Thou restrainest them with Thy word, and, "PEACE BE STILL," makes the heart of the mariner glad, and brings him to his desired "haven."
O Lord, how wonderful are Thy works, in all the world! in wisdom Thou hast made them all, and all these things Thou hast put under our feet. Can we do other than trust Thee? O make us more deserving of these Thy blessings. Cause us to exercise constant watchfulness over our souls. Help us to do our duty this day and every day with faithfulness and zeal; and unto Thee alone shall be ascribed all the glory. Amen.

TUESDAY MORNING.
O LORD Almighty, when the angels sing Thy praise, they unite in the song of Moses and the Lamb; and Moses was Thy servant, filled with Thy spirit, one of the wisest of statesmen, one of the greatest of philosophers, one of the most valiant generals, endowed with the power of working miracles, and yet, though the leader of a great and numerous people, was one of the humblest of men. O fill us with this humility. May we be valiant in the cause of Thy truth, but still may Thy truth place before us the simplicity of lowly-mindedness. May the innocency of childhood rest upon us, with the intelligence of manhood, to be strong in the work of the Lord; but O may humility be our distinguishing virtue. May we be accounted humble, meek, and lowly.
Thou, O Lord Jesus Christ, dwellest with the meek, and Thou wilt beautify the meek with Thy salvation.
O gracious Lord, our Saviour, enable us to acquire such a temper and spirit as may class us with the number of Thy true and faithful disciples.
Preserve this family, we beseech Thee, in peace and harmony with each other. May we live as becomes brethren. May we dwell together in unity, and regulate our lives by the laws of order. May we be each other's counsel, solace, and friend. May we strive to live the life most pleasing to Thee, O Lord, and most useful to mankind. May we pursue the orderly course of virtue, and look unto Thee, and pray unto Thee that we
