become our Saviour." Glory be to Thy holy name, O Lord! Abide in us, we beseech Thee, and aid us to abide in Thee, for without Thee we can do nothing. Lord, assist us, we entreat Thee, to understand thoroughly the important and truly glorious work of our redemption, and oh, may the causes which led to the necessity of redemption, be so constantly present before us that we may avoid falling into the snares still spread for us by our spiritual enemies. When we look back to the period in which Thou didst personally appear, clothed in flesh on earth, dwelling with us as the "Word made Flesh," we are struck with amazement at the extent of Thy love. The whole earth was filled with violence, and had corrupted itself before Thee; darkness covered it, and gross darkness dwelt with its people. Then, as in the fulness of time, Thou, Lord, looked, and there was none to help, therefore Thine own arm brought salvation unto Thee, and Thy righteousness sustained Thee. Glory to Thy name, O Lord! Thou hast redeemed us, O Lord God of truth. Amen.

MONDAY MORNING.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful Lord, our Heavenly Father, impress our minds this morning, we beseech Thee, with fervent love and gratitude for the blessings and protection of the past night, and enable us to draw near unto Thee with pure and spiritual feelings. Thou art a spirit, and they that worship Thee must worship Thee in spirit and in truth. May singleness of eye pervade our devotions this morning, and still calling to remembrance the wonders of Thy redeeming love, may we dedicate all our talents and faculties to Thy service.

As beings created to enjoy an eternity of happiness in Thy kingdom, we desire above all things to gain a true knowledge of Thee, the one everlasting God and eternal life. Thy word discloses unto us the ineffable goodness of Thy nature; yea, Thy nature and Thy name is love, and Thou manifestest the perfection of Thy love by Thine all-glorious truth. Thy truth is the form of God. Thou dost clothe Thyself with light, or truth, as with a garment. As truth divine didst Thou appear in the world the express image of the Father's person. Thy Word of Truth instructs us in Thy nature, Thy quality, and Thy attributes; therefore art Thou ever present in Thy Word, and it is Thy presence which constitutes its divinity. O God of truth and love, abide in us that we also may abide in Thee. Amen.

O let our prayer arise with acceptance unto Thee, and incline thine ear to the voice of our supplication. Another day has passed, and still has Thy goodness crowned us with blessings.
