Edward-Turnour Garth-Turnour, /otmei'ly I 1761 Oarth, of Shillinglee Park, co. Snssex, was only s. and h. of Joseph Qabth, of Shillinglee afsd., by Sarah, only surv. child of Francis Earldom [I]. Qii, and Sarah, his wife, sister of Charles TurnoUR, of Shillinglee T 1 7 AA afsd., and of Little Pamdon, Essex (whose issue became extinct on i. 1/00. the death of his daughter) and da. of Sir Edward Tornour (<<. 8 Dec. 1721), who was s. and h. of Sir Edward Tornour, L. Ch, Baron of the Exchequer, 1661-75. This Sarah Qarth, on the death (1 Aug. 1726) of her maternal uncle, Charles Turnour, abovenamed, and the extinction of his issue, became the representatiTC of her maternal grandfather, Sir Edward Tumour, and, under the will of her cousin, Edward Turnour, of Shillinglee Park afsd. («. and h. of Arthur Tumour of the same, who d. 4 April 1724, being a yr. br.'of the said Sir Edward) the inheritrix of that estate on the death of the said Kdward, 9,p, 1786. On her death, 22 Sep. 1744, she was sue. by her son, Edward-Tumour Garth, above- named, who, accordingly, took the name of Tumour as a final surname. He was b, 1784 ; matric. at Oxford (Triu Coll.) 28 Oct. 1752, aged 18 ; F.R.S. He was cr. 10 April 1761 BARON WINTERTON OF GORT, co. Galwsy [I.], and was subsequently cr. 12 Feb. 1766, VISCOUNT TUUNOUR OF GORT, co. Galway, and EARL WINTERTON [I.j(b) ; was M.P. for Bramber, 1761-69. He m. firstly, 13 March 1756, Aune, da. of Thomas (Arohbr), 1st Baron Arohkr of Umrirsladk, by Catharine, da. of Sir Thomas Tipping, Bart. She d, 20 June 1775, at Shilliuglee afsd. He m. secondly 18 Feb. 1788, Elisabeth, da. of John Armstkono, of Giidalm- ing,co. Surrey. He d. of apoplexy, at Shillinglee afsd., 10 Aug. 1788. Will pr. 1788. His widow m. 80 March 1791, William Riobardson, AccounUnt Gen. E.[. civil service, who d. 28 Oct, 1798. She d. 1 Dec 1841. in ITpiter Seymour Street, in her 84th year, and was bur. in the burial ground of St. James, Westm., behind St. John's Cbipel, Hampatead Road. Will pr. Jan. 1842. II. 1 788, fB.
