Norfolk. He was s. and h. of Sir Henry Goucai, Bart, (so e*. 26 April 1728) of Kdgbastou, co. Warwick, by his 2nd wife, Barbara, da. of Reynolds Calthorpe of Elvetham, Hants. He sue. his Father 8 June 1774, being then aged about 26, was SLP. for Brambcr, 1774-90, took by Royal Lie. 7 May 17SS the additional surname of Calthorpe on the death of his maternal uncle Sir Henry Cal- thorpe, K.B. whose estates he inherited, and in 1796 was raised to the Peerage as above. He m. 1 May 1783 at St. Geo. Han. sq., Frances, 2nd da. and coheir of Gen. Benjamin CAnrENTF.it. He d. 16 March 1708 in his 50th year and was bur. at Edge- baston. M.l. His widow, who was 4. 10 June 1761, d. 1 May 1827. II. 1798. ~'. CiiAJiLES (Gough-Caltiiorpe), Baron Calthorpe, 2nd but 1st surv. s. and h. 4. 22 March 1786. He d. unm. (of con- sumption) at Flushing in Cornwall 5 June 1807. III. 1807. 3. George (Gough-Calthorpe), Baron Caltitoiifk, br. and h. 4. 22 June 1787. He d. unm. Sep. 1851 at Lyons in France. Will pr. Dec. 1851. IV. 1851. 4. Frederick (Goucn), Bahon Calthorpe, br. and h., 4. 14 June 1790 in London. M.P. for Hindou (Wilts), 181 8-26 and for Bramber 1826-31. By Royal lie. 14 May 1845 ha discontinued (far himself only) the additional surname of Calthorpe. High Sheriff of co. Stafford, 184S. He m. 12 Aug. 1823, Charlotte Sophia, 1st da. of Henry Charles (Somkuset), 6th Duke of Beaufort, by Charlotte Sophia, da. of Granville, (Leveson-Gowek), 1st Marquess ok Stafford. She was 4. 25 April 1795, and d. 12 Nov. 1865 at Elvetham. He d. 2 May 1868 aged 77 at Elvetham. Will dat. 13 May 1856, pr. 14 May 1868, under £70,000. Y. 1868. 5. Frederick Henry William (Gough-Calthorpe). Baron Calthorpe, b. and h., 4. 24 July 1826 in London. Ed. at Eton and at Trin. Coll. Cambridge. M.P. for East Wore. 1859-08. ( a ) He was killed by Henry Flood in a duel. His sister, Ellis, was cr. Countess of Brandon [I.] in 1758 ; while his two nephews (sons of his br. Henry Agar of Gowran) were respectively cr. Viscount Clifden [I.] in 1781, and Baron Soinerton [I.] (afterwards Karl of Nonnantqn [I.J; in 17.V5 ; making four Peerages conferred, within 40 years, on different members of the family of Agar.
