OF AMPTHILL, eo. Bedford and KARL OF AILESBURY. With t irpi Earldom the two Baronies (Bruce of Yhorltou and Bruce of • Skelton) and the Yiseountoy of Bruce continued united till the death, s.p.m.s., 10 Feb 1716/7, of Charles, 3d Earl of Ailesbury (who had been sum. v.p. iu 1711 in his Father's Barony as Loud Bruce ok WnoitLTON) when they all became extinct. J, Charles (Bruce), Earl of Ailesbury, Viscount liiU'CE ok Ami-hull, Baron Bruce ok WHOBLTON, and Baron Bruce J. 1 I 40. oF SKELTON, also Earl ok Elgin, &c [S]. having no heir to his English Peerages, was cr. 17 April 1710, BARON BRUCE OF TOTTENHAM, Wilts, with a spec, rem, failing heirs male of Ilia body, to (his sister's sou) Thomas Bruce I'.u' iit.NKix. The Barony which he himself had obtained, devolved as below. II. 1747. 2. TnoJLvs Bruce (Brudknell, afterwards Brudenell Bruck), Baron BROCK ok Tottenham, nephew and h. according to the spec. rem. See " Cardigan," Earldom of cr. 1661. BRUDENELL OF DEENE. 1. Hon. James Brudenell, yr. s. of George, 3d Earl of Cardigan, was, ou 17 Oct. 1780, cr. BARON BRUDENELL OF DEENE, co Northampton.
