Kb was s. and b. of Susan, wife of Sir Michael Lonoukvi.xk (knighted 7 Feb. 1617/8) which Susan was only sister of Henry, Karl of Kent and Lord Grey de Ruthyn, next abovcnamed.( :l ) He was Imp. 21 April 1(112, at Peppersall, Beds. His claim to the Barony was allowed^ 1 ) 5 Feb. 1010,1, and having been Bum. on the 6th, he was introduced into the House the 10th fallowing and placed next below the Lord D«ore.(*) He m. Frances, 2d da. and coheir of Edward NKVUX, of Keymer, Sussex, by Margaret, da. of Sir Francis Pai.mkii. He d. s.p.m. 17 June 1648, at the King's garrison at Oxford. Northampton, ne, who was s. and h. of Sir Christopher Yki.vehton, Bart, (so cr. 30 June 1041), by Ann, da. of Sir William TwISDBN, Part., was Imp. 0 July 1033, at Easton Mauduit; site, his father, 4 Dec. 1654 ; was M.P. for Northamptonshire, 1659-60, ami d. .'10 Oct. 1(170, being bur. at Easton Mauduit afsd. Will pr. 1671. The Baroness ((. 28 Jan. 1676, and was bur. at Easton Mauduit. XIY. 1670. 1.',. Charles (Yelverton), Lord Grey de Rothyw, 1st s. and h>, b. 21 Aur. 1657 ; sin: his father as 3d Baronet i-i 1670 and sue. his mother in the peerage in 1676 and took his seat 21 Oct. 167S. He d. of the small pox, num., 17 May 1079, and was bur. at Easton Mauduit. Admon. 7 July 1679. XV. 1G79. 1~>. Henry (Yelverton), Lord Greyde Ruthyn, next Burv. bi. and h., b. about 1661. His claim for carrying the gilt spurs at a coronation was allowed 14 April 16S5, by the House of Lords() and he bore them at the coronation of James II., of William and Mary, and of Queeu Anne. He was cr. by William III., 21 April 1690, VISCOUNT DE LONGUEVILLE, being introduced as such 29 April 1690.(») He was Gent, of the Bedchamber to Prince George of Denmark, 1702. He m. 11 July 16S9, at St. Martins in the fields ( Lie. Fac, office) Barbara, da. of Sir John Talbot, of Lacock, Wilts, by Barbara, da. of Sir Henry SUNOSBT, Bart. He d. 24 March 1700/4, at Bath, aged -10, and was bur. at Easton Mauduit. Will dat. 21 Fob. 1703, pr. 1 June 1701. His widow d. 31 Jan. 1763, aged 98, at Brandon, co. Warwick, and was bur. at Eastou Mauduit. M.I. Her will dat. 13 July 1759,'pr. 5 Feb. 1763. and h. to Anthony, Lord Grey of Rutiiyu, 1st B. of Edmoud [1st] Earl of Kent, when, in truth, the said Catherine was da. of John, Lord Grey of Wilton." This pedigree was, however, quashed 22 June 1597, by decision of the Earl Marshal thro' his Deputies. See full proceedings thereon in Collius's " Precedents," pp. 141—147. (a) She was m. 12 Aug. 1611, at Peppersali, Beds, and was bur. at Blunham iu that co. 13 Dee. 1620. This right was exercised by Reginald, Lord Grey de Kuthyn, who carried them at the coronation of Henry IV. as heir of John Hastings, late Earl of Pembroke. (°) The title is " Yicccnncs de Longueville" iu the patent of creation (iu which he is inaccurately styled " Baro de Grey de Ruthen ") but he was introduced into the House of Lords as " Viscount Longiiecitte " aud his son and successor was, as Viscount Longueville, cr. Kail of Sussex. The facsimile of the signature of the 1st Yiscount as "lien, de Longuevilte" is given in Doyle's " Official Baronage."
