Northampton (being cousin and heir male of the well known Sir Christopher Hatton, the Lord Chancellor), l>y Alice, da of Tliomas Fanshawk, of Ware Park, Herts, was bap. 11 July 1605, at Harking afsd. ; sue. his father in the family estates, 10 Sup. 1619 ; ed. at Jesus Coll., Cambridge ; K.B. at the coronation, 2 Feb. 1626 ; Steward of Higham Ferrers, &c, 1 G3G : M.P. for Higham Ferrers, 1640, till "disabled" in 1643; joined the King at Oxford ; was a: D C.L., Nov. 1042, and was cr., 29 July 1643,(») HAUoN HATTON, OF KIBBY, co. Northampton ; P.C.. 1613; Comptroller of the Household, 1643-46 ; Joint Commissioner for the King at the Uxbridge Conference, 1 (545, retiring to France 1648. At the restoration ho was in 1662 made (again) P.O. and Gov. of Guernsey and Castle Cornet. He m., S May 1630, at Hackney, eo. Midx., Elizabeth, da. and coheir of .Sir Charles Mo.ST.vOf, of Boughton, Co. Northampton, by his second wife, Mary, UK da. of William W'Hmimu'., Alderman of Loudon. He <Z. at Kirby Hall, I July 1670. and was bio: Aug. iu Westm. Abbey. Admon. "21 July 1670. His widow was (with her son's wife) killed by an explosion of the powder magazine at Cornet Castle afsd. 30 Dec. 1672, and was bur. 11 Jan. following at Weetin. Abbey. () II. 1670. 1 and 2. She, who was b. 2 and bap. 7 June 1648, at llothfield, Kent, perished iu the explosion at Castle Cornet above mentioned, 30 Dec. 1672, and was bur. (with her husband's mother) Aug. in U'estm. Abbey.
