He d. 4 Oct. 1851, at the residence of his wife's sister, the Marchioness Wellesley, [I.] in Hampton Court Palac;, aged 80. Will pr. March 1852. She was also proficient in architectural knowledge and it was accordiug to her plans that the family seat, Costessy Hall (called sometimes " the Windsor of Norfolk") was rebuilt at however, a ruinous expense. ( b ) Of her two sisters, one, was Duchess of Leeds, and the other, Marchioness Wellesley, [[.] C) His executors sold in May 1885 (Christie & Co.) a most valuable collection of arms, ancient armour, china, pictures, &c, at Stafford Castle and Costessy Hall realising £7,079, of which the pictures fetched above £1,600. C l ) Of these, the Norfolk estates were inherited from the family of Jeruingham, hut those in Salop and Staffordshire from the family of Stafford.
