His widow, who was b. 1711, in., as his second wife, 10 Oct 1752, at Morden College, Ulaekheath (mar. rcgd. at Charlton, co. Stafford, by his second wife Mary, da. and h, of George BoWKfi, of Klford, afsd., which Craven (who d- 7 June 1700) was only s. and h. of the Hun. William Howard [bap. 27 June 1622), 1th s. of Thomas, 1st Kaki. of Berkshire (i/. 10 July 1669, aged 89), who was 2d s. of Thomas, 1st Karl ok Suffolk, above- named. He was 6. 1686, being aged 20 when he sue. to the peerage at Earl of Berkshire, icon the death. 12 April 170' of his great uncle, Thomas, the 3d Karl. From 12 Nov. 171S to 13 May 1725 he was Deputy Karl Marshal. He sue. as linrl of SujfiAk, on the death of his cousin, 22 April 1745; was Recorder of Liehlield, 1755. He in., fi March 1708/9, his Brat cousin Catharine, only surv. da. and h. of Col. James ObiBaU, of Levens, co. Westmorland, by Dorothy, da. of the Hon. William Howard, aforenamed. He d, at Bath 21 March 1757, and was bur. at Charlton, co. Wilts, need about 70. Will dat. 28 July 1750, pr. 23 May 1760. His widow d. in Fall Hall 13 and was bur. 16 Feb. 1762 at Charlton afsd. He m. 15 Nov. 1730, Mary, 2d da. of Hi-neage (Kixcm), 2d Karl ok Aylesfohd. He d. v.p. (by a fall from his chaise in Oxfordshire) IS July 1750, aged 42, and was bur. at Klfurd afsd. Will dat. 2S Aug. 1755, pr. 14 June 1757. His widow, ( c ) who was 6. 1 and 6uji. 11 March 1716/7, d. at. Klford "immensely rich" and was bur. there 10 March 1803 in her 87th vear. Will pr. Henry (Howard), Earl of Suffolk, Earl of to BERKSHIRE &c, grandson and h., being s. and h. of William Mgruli HOWARD, styled Viscount Andover and Mary his wife, both above- 177'J named. He was 6. 10 or 16 May, or 8 Aug. 1739 ; ed. at Eton and at Mag Coll. Oxford; styled Viscount Andover after his father's death, 18 July 1756, till he sue. to the peerage as above % March 1757 ;cr. M.A. of known verses to her (as, "the thing that's most uncommon," viz, "a reasonable Wumau") which end thus : — " Has she no faults then, Envy says, Sir ? Yes, she has one I must aver ; When all the world conspire to praise her, The woman's de<if and will not hear." As to her personal appearance she was, according to H. Walpole, "of a just height, well made, extremely fair, with the finest light brown hair." Her portrait (at lliioking) is engraved in her " Letters from 1712 to 1767," edited in 1824.
