Norfolk, by Jane, da. and h. of Edmund OosviLLK. He d. 12 July, or 17 or 27 Aug- 1498, aged 63. Will dat. at East Harling, 3 July 1494 and 8 Aug. 1498, pr. 8 Nov. 1498, Inq. post mortem, 13 Oct. 149S, at Guildhall. The wi'l of his widow, by when) he had no issue, directs her burial to be at East Harling (by her first husband) dat. 28 Aug. andpr. 8 Nov. 1498.;*) VI. 1498. 6. H is curious how much these Lords interested themselves in heraldic hearings ; besides this and previous instances (see p. 84, note " d ") Dugdale writes : " it seems that after the Isle of Man was granted to Thomas, Lord Stanley, this John, Lord Scio|*, still bore the arms thereol ; therefore in 15 hd. IV., by an order of the Sov. «>-d Knights Comp. of the Garter, it was decreed that, notwithstanding his claim. }>" Bhould relinquish those arms till the King's return into England, Baving unto hi"' and hiB heirs their right in case it should be found that they had any.
