(by the ist wife) of the 4th Duke of Atholl [S.]. He was />. 20 Sep. 18 14, in Gt. Cuinberland Place, Maryle- bone. Sometime (1834) an officer in 2nd Dragoon Guards, retiring 1840. Grand Master of Freemasons [S.] 1843 till his death. Hereditary Sheriff of CO. Perth. On 12 Oct. 1837 he sue. his father as Lord Glenlyon. A Lord in Waiting Jan. to July 1846. K.T. 28 Oct. 1853. Pres. of the Highland and Agric. Soc. [S.] 1858-62. In poHtics he was a Conservative. He ;»., 29 Oct. 1839, at Blair Drummond, Anne, only da. of Henry Home- Drummond, of Blair Drummond, co. Perth, by Christian, ist da. of Charles Moray, of Abercairny in that co. He d., of cancer in the neck, at Blair Castle, 16, and was bur. 25 Jan. 1864, in the (ruinous) Church of Blair, aged 49. His widow, who was i>. ij June 18 14, in Edinburgh, and who from Feb. to Dec. 1852 was Mistress of the Robes, (*) was a Lady of the Bedchamber May 1854 to 1897, being acting Mistress of the Robes 1892.
