VITA

Marjorie O'Connell. Born in Newark, New Jersey, 15 August, 1890. Received pre-collegiate education during fifteen years' attendance at the Ethical Culture School, New York City, graduated therefrom in 1908.

Entered Barnard College in 1908; specialized in geology and mathematics. Received B. A.degree in 1911.

In 1911 entered upon graduate work in the Department of Geology, Columbia University, where for five years she has been trained primarily in methods of research in palæontology and stratigraphy under Professor Grabau; general work in other branches of geology has also been pursued under Professors Kemp, Berkey, and Johnson; in mineralogy under Professor Moses; and in zoölogy under Professor R. Osborn. Received M.A. degree in 1912.

Honors and Prizes Received. Undergraduate honors in mathematics 1910, 1911, 1912, in geology 1911; general honors in 1910, 1911. The present paper awarded the Walker first prize by the Boston Society of Natural History, May 1914. Curtis scholar in Geology, 1912–13.
