the Cardinall, and therefore from the Cardinall he appeales to ſar.

Very willingly they agree to this, and therefore doe grant him but fourteene dayes, which being paſt and the Baron in regard of the ill diſpoſition of his body, could not goe unto ſar, the next day after the Epiphanie they returne, and preſs hard for the execution of ſars will, yet it was left to the Barons choiſe, whether he would promiſe to ſend the Miniſters away, or whether he would leave this thing for them to doe. The Baron ſayd, that neither of theſe was convenient, that either he ſhould baniſh thoſe whom he knew to bee the ſervants of Chriſt, or that the Commiſſioners ſhould preſcribe it to him; but that he would appeal to ſar. They proteſted that they ought to put in execution the commands of ſar, and therefore immediately goe into the town, and make ready the citation, and having called the the Burrouhg Maſter of the Towne, require him to provide them a meſsenger, and preſently, even that night, (that they may declare themſelves to be of the number of thoſe whom the Scripture ſayth, ‘cannot take their reſt unleſs they may doe ſome miſchiefe, or thoſe whoſe ſleep departeth from them except they may deſtroy, Proverbs 4, 16.) commanding all that inhabite that village, that they appeare next morning very early.
