Commissioner; qualified himself for the profession of Law; resigned service and enrolled himself as a Pleader, 1871; appointed as District Munsiff of Chinthamani, Kolar District, 1873; rendered valuable service in the famine of 1876-78; earned the approbation of the Famine Commissioner as well as the thanks of the Government of India; transferred to Chitaldroog, 1879, in charge of the District Treasury, the Jail, and the Subordinate Judge’s Court; transferred to Mysore where he acted as District Munsiff, Assistant Commissioner, Sub-Judge, District and Sessions Judge till 1893; on special duty in connection with Viceregal visit to Mysore, 1892; appointed Deputy Commissioner, 1892; Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Chitaldroog, 1896; Revenue Secretary to Government, 1895; Secretary to Government, (Revenue and General Departments), 1896; 2nd Member, Council of Regency, 1901; Senior Member of Council, 1904; title of Raja manthra pravina conferred by H.H. the Maharaja of Mysore, October 1904; retired. 1906; is connected with several important public Institutions. Srinivasa Rao, G., B.A., Rao Bahadur (1908); Pleader, Madura; b. 1857; educ: Presidency College, Madras; B.A., 1881; set up practice as a lawyer in District Court, Madura; Chairman, Municipal Council, Madura; for some time elected Member, Legislative Council, Madras; travelled extensively visiting England, America, Japan, etc.; connected with all public movements of the time. Address: Madura, Madras Presidency.

Srinivasa Rao, Malur, M.A., M.D., B.Sc, (Edin.), D.P.H. (Cantab.); F.C.S. (London); Director of Public Health Institute and Deputy Sanitary Commissioner, Government of Mysore, since 1912; b. 1864; educ: Wardlaw College, Bellary; Madras Christian College; and Edinburgh University. Joined the Doveton College, Madras, as Professor of Physical Science, 1888; Head Master, High School, Kurnool, 1889-93; joined the Mysore Medical service as Assistant Surgeon, 1896; deputed by the Mysore Government to undergo a course of training in Bacteriology at Agra, 1897; Chemical Examiner and Bacteriologist, Mysore,1897; Professor of Biology, Central College, Bangalore, 1898; Director of Public Health Institute and Deputy Sanitary Commissioner to Government of Mysore, 1912.
