So that the information I have gained of the attitude of the higher ruling classes, not only in Russia but in Europe and America, toward the elucidation of this question has convinced me that there exists in these ruling classes a con sciously hostile attitude to true Christianity, which is shown pre-eminently in their reticence in regard to all manifestations of it.
