OUR SOVERAIGNE LORD, and Eftaites of this prefent Parliament, having confederation of the great hurt and skaith that his Heighnes Leiges hes fufteined and daily fufteins , by the great di- verfitie and difconfonnitie of the weghts, metts and meafures within this Realme. Notwithftanding of divers and fnndrie afts of Parliament made in the contrare, by his Heighnes moft worthie Progenitours , and by his Majefties felfe , in the Parliament halden at Edinburgh the zy day of Julie, ane thoufand, five hundreth, fourefcore leaven. And that the negligence of the putting of the acts of Parliament to due execution , is greateil occafion thereof. IT Is therefore ftatute and ordained , that all Schirefs , Stewarts of Royalties and Regalities , Proveft, Baillies and Aldermen of Burrowes , ilk ane of them within their awne bounds and jurifdiftion , put the faids afts of Parliament anent weghts , metts and meafures to due execution , betwixt the date hereof and the firft day of Januar next to come , under all heigheft paine. Where-throw that there may be ane univerfall con- formitie of weghts , metts and meafures throughout the haill Realme. With power alfo to the forefaids Judges to take tryel of falfe metts, weghts and meafures. And the lifers of the faids falfe weghts and mea- fures to amit and tyne their haill goods and gear , and the famine to be intrometted with to OUR SOVE- RAIGNE LORDS ufe. 3 . Anent defrayers of Tarks , JVods , 'Plantings , Dowcats , Bees , Lochs and Stankes. OUR SOVERAIGNE LORD, and Eftaites of this prefent Parliament, confiddering how Woods, Parks and all fort of Planting and haning decayes within this Realme; and how Dowcats are broken, Beesftollen, mens proper Lochs and Stankes berried , to the great hurt and prejudice of the Countrie and decay of Policie. Therefore, Ratifies and approves all afts of Parliament made of before, for confervation of planting and policie; and againft breakers of Dowcats, dealing of Bees, and of fillies forth of mens Stanks and
