Pandit Sastri went up to the bai’S of the jail-cage and affectionately blessed them—not the unworthy acts, but the souls that, amidst all vicissitudes and fluctuations, continued to be dear to God. That was the true minister of Grod, not seeking popularity through assuming a taking cry, not shrinking from the discharge of unpopular but virtuous duty if, in the muae of God, it had to be done. That was tlie minister of religion, never a faddist, never a fanatic, never pusillanimous. Blessed be the name of the Brahma Samaj that has produced this great and good man, this worthy messenger of God, this noble expression of truth, this worthy example of righteousness ! Blessed be the name of God now and for ever!
