The living is a rect. in the dioc. of Ferns, val. with another, 288, in the patron, of the bishop. The church was built by means of a loan in 1827. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Chapel. There are a Sunday and two day schools in the parish. The living was held by Gordon, the historian, for some time.
