The par. includes the hmlts. of Bagnor, Marsh, Benham, Speenhamland, Stock Cross, and Wood-Speen. This place occupies the site of the Eoman station Spina, mentioned by Antonine, situated on Icknield and Ryknield Streets, whence a way turned to Bath.
