Chap. XXVIII.

He riseth againe the third day, and (the blind most obstinate Jewes by bribery working to their owne reprobation) he appeareth to his Disciples in Galilee (as both before his Passion he foretold them Mat. 26. and now after his Resurrection, first the Angel, then also himself appointed by the women) 18. and sendeth them to al Nations, to build his Church among the Gentils.

The Ghospel for the night of Christes Resurrection, which is now used to be said on Easet eve.
EASTER day.
AND in the evening of the Sabboth which dawneth on the first of the Sabboth, came Marie Magdalene, and the other Marie ″ to see the sepulchre. 2And behold there was made a great earth-quake. For an Angel of our Lord descended from Heaven: and comming, roled back the stone, and sate upon it: 3and his countenance was as lightning, and his garment as snow. 4And for feare of him, the watchmen were frighted, and became as dead. 5And the Angel answering said to the women: Feare not you. For I know that you seeke Jesus that was crucified. 6He is not here, for he is risen, Mt. 24, 32.* as he said. Come, and see the place where our Lord was laid. 7And going quickly tel ye his Disciples that he is risen: and behold he goeth before you into Galilee: there you shal see him. Loe I have foretold you.

8And they went forth quickly out of the monument with feare and great joy, running to tel his Disciples. 9And behold Jesus met them, saying: Al haile. But they came neere and tooke hold of his feet, and adored him. 10Then Jesus said to them: Feare not. Goe, tel my brethren that they goe into Galilee, there they shal see me.

11Who when they were departed, behold certaine of the watchmen came into the citie, and told the chiefe Priests al things that had been done. 12And being assembled togeather with the Ancients, taking counsel, they gave a great summe of money to the souldiars, 13saying: Say you, that his Disciples came by night, and stole him away when we were asleep. 14And if the President shal heare of this, we wil persuade him, and make you secure. 15But they taking the money, did as they were taught. And this word was bruited abrode among the Jewes, even unto this day.

The Ghospel upon Friday in Easter weeke.16And the eleven Disciples went into Galilee, unto the mount where Jesus had appointed them. 17And seeing him they adored, but some doubted. The Ghospel in the feast of the B. Trinitie.18And Jesus comming neere spake unto them, saying: Al power is given to me in Heaven and in earth. 19 ″ going therfore teach ye al nations: Baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the sonne, and of the Holy Ghost, 20teaching them to observe al things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you ″ al daies, even to the consummation of the world.✠
