The name of a newspaper , like its motto , is often an indication of its historic, if not of its present personality . These names may denote important questions that were uppermost in the public

Star , Western Star, Meteor, Comet, Planet; Zenith , Eclipse, Cres cent, Globe, Cosmos, World ; Blizzard , Tornado, Avalanche , Breeze, Lake Breeze, Ocean Breeze ; as also his friendly relationship with animal life, Bee, Bee Hive, Hornet, Wasp, Eagle, Eagle Eye , Pelican , Cricket, Black Cat, Buck , Elk , Tiger, Rooster , Hawkeye.

They may indicate the natural resources or the geographical loca tion of the place where the paper is published , Gem , Diamond ,

Nugget, Emerald , Pearl; Surf, Wave, Anchor, Buoy, Coast Watch , Pilot, Lookout, Search Light, Lighthouse , Inter Lake, Inter Ocean , as also the probable conditions of life under which the paper was

started, - Frontier, Pioneer, Path Finder , Log Cabin , Plow Boy, Landmark , Guide, Guide Post, Scout. They may show a once universal familiarity of the newspaper-reading public with

classical mythology, language, and literature, – Aegis, Apollo , Argo, Argonaut, Argus, Athenaeum , Atlantis, Atlas, Iris, Mercury ,
