[1] Sir William, of Rydal, created a Baronet 4 Oct. 1705, with remainder to the issue male of his father, knight of shire, Westmoreland 1695, 1698, 1702, 1705. and 1707. and d. 29 Aug. 1736, having m. Catherine, dau. of Rotert, and sister and coheir of Thomas Jefferson, of Carlisle. His only son, WiLLiAil, archdeacon of Carlisle, died in the lifetime of his father, leaving an only dau. Isabella, 6th dau. of William Hicks, of Whitehaven, high sheriff Cumberland 1770, and was father of Sir Daniel, 5th, and of Sir Richard, 6th Baronet. [5] Fletcher, m. Sir Daniel, in 1821), M.A. rector of Grasmere and Windei-mere, Westmorland ; b. 4 Nov. 1791 ; d. 3 April, 1857, ha-s-ing m. 6 Sept. 1825, Sarah, 3rd dau. of W B Bradshaw, Esq. of Halton Hall, co. Lane, and had 2 sons and 2 daus. (1) Sir Michael, 7th and present Baronet. (2) WUliam, b. 17 Oct. 1832; m. 1858, Mary, eldest dau. of ilr. Thomas Wilson, of High Wray, Windennere. (3) Elizabeth Sara Anne Bradshaw, b. 12 Nov. 1826; m. 8 0ct. 1857, to .James Carter Shepherd, of Ambleside, surgeon. (4) IsabeUa Mai-ia, b. 17 Dec. 1829; m. 1861, to Edmmid Henry Ensor, Esq. of Lake Forsji:h, Canterbury, New Zealand, and has 4 sons and 3 daus. HENRY FLETCHER, of Cockennouth (son of William), entertained Mary Queen of Scots at his house on her journey from Workington (where she landed) to Carlisle, in 1568, and presented her with robes of velvet; he d. 1574,leaving with other issue, (1) William, ancestor of Fletcher of Moresby. (2) Lancelot, ancestor of Fletcher of Tallantire. (3) Thomas (6th son), m. Jane, dau. of Bellew, and had 5 sons, of whom, /I/ Sir Richard, of Hutton, Cimib. whose son.
