He d. 1566, having had with other issue, 3 sons, [1] Sir Richard, K.B. lonl of the manor of Fawsley, a zealous Calvinist, summoned before the Star Chamber for secretly printing libels against tlie Church and was deeply fined, sat in several Parliaments temp. Q. Elizabeth and James I.; d. 1615, having m. 1st, Mary, dau. of William Fermor, of Easton Newton. He m. 2ndly, Lady Elizabeth, 6th dau. of Edward Duke of Somerset, Lord Protector; she d. 1602, by whom he had a son Sir Seymour, and 6 others. [2] Thomas, of Burgh Hall, co. Staff. ; m. Elizabeth, dan. of John Shuckburgh, of Navesby, Northampton. From him descended in the 4th generation LUCT KXIOHTLET, of Fawsley, d. Aug. 1738, having m. Jane Grey, ilau. of Henry Benson, of Dodford, Northampton (by Elizabeth, dau. and coheir of Thomas, Lord Grey of Groby, a coheir of the baronies of Baiilesmere, Fitzwarine, and Latimer); she d. 3 Dec. 1731, leaving a son, Valentine, of whom presently. [3] Edward, of Offchurch, Warwick ; m. thrice, and by the second, Elizabeth, dau. of Sir William Lenthall, of Latchford, Oxon. was grandfather of Sir John Knightley, of Offchurch, created a Baroxet SO Aug. 1660, whose only son Sir John d. s. p. 1668.
