Perth, from John de Strathbolgy, Earl of Atholl ; m. Egidia, only dau. of James, high steward of Scotland. His descendant, SIR DAVID DE MENGUES, Knt. was one of the hostages for James I. ransom, was employed in several embassies to the crown of Denmark, and governor of the Orkneys, then belonging to the King of Denmark; in the latter part of his life he became a monk of the Cistercian order in the monastery of Melrose ; m. 1st, Margery Sinclair, sister of Henry, Earl of Orkney; he m. 2ndly, Helen.
