Catharine, dau. of Andrew Munro, of Milltown, and had 2 sons, of whom the elder, JOHX, of Obisdale, col. commanded a foot regt. in the German wars, where he was killed ; m. Catharine, dan. of John Gordon, of Embo, and had with 2 daus. 6 sons, of whom (1) Sir Robert, 3rd Baronet in 1651; d. 1668, having m. his cousin Jean, eldest dau. of Sir Hector Munro, 1st Baronet. His male line is said to have failed on the death of his descendant, Sir Hugh, 8th Baronet, 2 May, 1848. (2) Sir George, of Culrain, K.B. Ross-shire, lieut.-col. com- manded a division at the battle of Lutzen, major-gen. of the royal forces in Ireland 1649, commanded a division of the Scottish army, and after the battle of Worcester joined Charles U.' in Holland, com.-in-chief in Scotland at the Restoration ; m. Margaret, only dau. of Sir Frederick Hamil- ton, and sister of Gustarus. 1st Viscount Boyne, and had issue. His great-great-grandson, George Mtin'RO, d. at Edinburgh,19 Dec. 1845, having m. 1792, Margaret, dau. of John Montgomery, Esq. of Milton, CO. Ayr; she d. 21 Sept. 1850, having had 2 sons, (1) Sir Thomas, 2nd and present Baronet. (2) Campbell, capt. late grenadier guards, heir presump- tive to the Baronetcy; b. 7 Sept. 1823; m. 4 April, 1853, Henrietta, dau. of John Drummond, Esq. (Y. Strathallax), and has 3 sons and 6 daus. SIR ANDREW MTRRAY, of Blackbarony (son of John Murray, of Blackbarony, who fell at Flodden Field, 9 Sept. 1513, great-grandson of George Murray, who was heir male of his cousin Mungo Murray, of Blackbarony); m. 1st, Eliza- beth Lockhart, and 2ndly, Griselda, dau. of Sir John Bethune, of Oeich, Fife, relict of WiUiam Scott, younger, of Branx- holm, ancestor of the Duke of Buccleuch, and had with other issue 3 sons, (1) Sir John, of Blackbarony, knighted by James VI. at Stir- ling ; m. 1st, Margaret, dau. of Sir Alexander Hamilton, of Innerwick, and 2ndly, Margaret Wauchope, of Keckmure. By his 1st wife he had with other issue a son. Sir archbald, created a Baronet op Nova SeoTLi, 15 May, 1628 (see next article).
