E.l.C.S. col. 28th Bengal N.I. received the thanks of both houses of par- liament for his services in the Nepaulese war, created a BARO- NET 7 Mar. 1816; a second patent, dated 8 Dec. 1823, was granted him with remainder to Sir Charles Metcalfe Ochterlony, the present Baronet; b. 12 Feb. 1758; d. unm. 15 July, 1826. (1869, U.K.), high sheriff 1850/1; s. his father as 2nd Baro- net in 1872 ; b. 31 Oct. 1821 ; m. 6 Jan. 1855, Emily Clunes, dau. of Rear- Admiral Sir Rich- ard O'Conor, K.C.B. and has 4 sons and a dau. (1) Maurice, 2nd lieut. 60th rifles, served in Zulu war 1879, medal and clasp; b. 24 July, 1858; fell in Boer cam- paign 8/9 Feb. 1881. (2) Daniel Ross, b. 18 Jan. 1861.
