SIR WILLIAM TWYSDEN, of Roydon Hall, Kent [eldest son of Roger Twysden, of Roydon Hall (by his -wife Anne, eldest dau. of Sir Thomas Wyatt, of Alington Castle, beheaded 1553), 10th in descent fi-om John, brother of Adam De Twysden, temp. Edward I.], knighted by James I. at the charterhouse 11 May, 1603, and created a B.R0NET 29 June IGll; d. 8 Jan. 1628, having m. Anne, dau. of Sir Moyle Finch Bart, and sister of Thomas, 1st Earl of Winchilsea ; she d. 14 Nov. 1038, having had with other issue 2 sons, /I/ Sir Roger, 2nd Baronet; d. 7 June, 1672, having m. Isabella, youngest dau. and coheir of Sir Nicholas Saunders, Knt. ; she d. 1655, aged 52.
