A material body is produced in Correspondence with the force within according to the same law that ignorance shapes the human face into the form of stupidity; that wisdom shapes it into an expression of intelligence; that gentleness shapes it into an expression of modesty; that the spirit of savagery shapes it into an image of fierceness and brutality or that will-force swells and knots the muscles. Each existing form, be it rock, plant, animal, or man, is a form made by the forces within producing their correspondential image. The grace of the palm and strength of the oak are in Correspondence with the plant life that forms them; and the endeavor in that life continues into every particular, shaping the branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits alike in perfect Correspondence with itself. The canine teeth and the claws of the tiger are in Correspondence with the quality of its ferocity. The venom, the forked tongue, and the stealth of the serpent are in Correspondence with the guile and treacherous life within. The soft external of the hare and its defenseless but agile body are in Correspondence with the sensitiveness or timidity of the life that forms it.
