Enforcement of strict discipline and principles of military organisation is the sole means of binding together the members of a new organisation for the furtherance of national interests. The rigorous pedagogic morality among the Calvinists and the repression of all individuality among the Jesuitical orders were the inevitable consequences of their position and responsibility as the pioneers and organisers of new movements.
