The room appeared then as a more than commonly luxurious hotel room, eighteen feet by twenty, and furnished, except for the brass bed, in mahogany. It presented the unusual feature of having two blank walls. Being the end room of the suite, it had no connection at all with the hallway of the hotel. On the west side the wall was hung with several pictures; and on the north wall, which also was unbroken, there were pictures and a tapestry.
