Nakamura Kumetarō II as Minato, the wife of Yura Hyōgonosuke.
The outer robe is black with a design in white, green and yellow. The kimono below it is in rose.
Recent identifications enable us to present a triptych of which this is the left-hand sheet.
The hand-written inscription gives the name of the actor as Nakayama, rather than Nakamura, Kumetarō, and this serves to identify the print as the one reproduced in the Straus-Negbaur Catalogue and in color by Kurth, from whom it was rephotographed by Nakata.
Of the two other impressions now in America, one was rephotographed by Noguchi and by Rumpf for his number 89 from the Vignier-Inada Catalogue, number 319, where it was shown as the left-hand sheet of a diptych. No other impressions have been recorded.

Nakajima Kanzō as the pack-horse man Neboke no Chōzō. In some books this character has been called Negoto no Chōzō, but the original play-bill writes the name as above.
The actor wears a red apron and an upper garment of gray-blue with white checks. About his waist is a yellow cord. His gloves and leggings are in gray-blue.
The impression exhibited, which is one of two in American collections, is reproduced as the right-hand sheet of a triptych improperly put together in the Vignier-Inada Catalogue, number 304. It appears again in
