SENTIMENTAL SONGS, While wine and c?der muil'd and worm. Came in at every door. The skaters on the ice may sing, Whilst all around they charm; l?u? we prefer the sleigh bells' ring, When all wrap'd up so warm: It snfel? bears its Io?,ely store Through many a stormy gele; Whilst joyful shouts from half a score, Our merry party hail. We cas: our hnes upon the rails, Where snow had dr/fled wide; Our bonny fdeigh, coats, hats and veils, Were all then hid aside: Then happy prov'd the jolly folks, With ne'er a sigh nor care: We'll now return and crack some jokes, Where all our treasures are. Now near the city we are come, The lamps I plainly see: From the good dome we lef? at home, Our welcome wafin will be: The well known shout and sleigh bells' rings Seem echoing in her ears; Now come, my boys, let's loudly sing, 8he'll soon forget her fears. We'll east our lines upon the post, That stands before the door, And then we'll all our fingers toast, And sleigh a little more. Then happy prove each pleasant .jaunt 1.Tpon the wintry plain; . l'm sure we shall not sleighing want, If snow don't turn to rain.
