THIRD PERIOD 564, DUNNOTTAR CASTLE the castle to remain, on condition that Sir William should build a parish church in a more central situation. Sir William Keith obtained Dunnottar from Lord Lindsay of the Byres in exchange for Struthers, in Fifeshire, about 1382-92, and the oldest portion of the present castle is subsequent to that date.
