NAMES OF THE FIVE "POINTS" OF A TAROT.

All tarots, of whatever number of squares, have five points, consisting of the four corners and the center. In odd numbered tarots, such as 9 or 25 square, the center square is one of the "points." But in even square tarots such as the 16 or 36, the center point is where the middle lines cross.

The names of these points are as follows, being the ones used in ancient times:

The word "Tot" means small, and denotes the place of the Ego or 1, in a tarot of first position. "Ana" signifies "over, opposite to another." "Rad" signifies a root or center from which points radiate. "Orb" means the earth, and that corner is ruled by the earth in the male line of a 16 tarot, "Tau" signifies "over, beyond, to a point beyond another."
