Now, if we take a tarot and quadrate it, and then "transform" it under Jupiter, according to diagram three, on page 222, we have a female Mercury tarot. The entire movement from the original Mercury tarot is very regular in a quadrilatural motion, as illustrated in diagram D. The arrows show the direction of the movements.
By an examination of diagram D we notice that each line it composed of the emblems which, in the original, occupied the corners of quadrilaterals, and therefore we are able to formulate the general law that—
