Impatience. The very same. Let me introduce him. Ladies, may I present Mr.—er—ah—Mr. Woolley, of—er—Afghanistan. Mr. Woolley, my friends—Miss Marianna Jones, Miss Babette Hawkins, Miss Janette Barrington, Miss Susanna Darrow, Miss Priscilla Middleton, Miss Prudence Andrews, and Miss Ethelinda De Witt—likewise, your most humble servant, Patience Willoughby, generally known as Impatience.

Ethelinda. What lovely eyes! They have all the sparkling vivacity of a pair of shoe-buttons.

Babette. He hasn't much conversation, has he?

Susanna. (Squeezing doll's arm.) He's a dream of beauty—but a trifle soft for me.
