A lively dancing romance—and how well the dancers look in Pompadour gowns and flowered silks and Mechlin ruffles—can be at least as adventurous as a detective story, and in Miss Heyer's tale of His Grace of Avon and his copper-headed wayward page there is hardly a staid minute or a day secure from peril.
