QUILL, Lieutenant-Colonel Berkeley Crosbie, C.B. (1902). Educ.: Middleton College, Co. Cork. Entered Army 1872; served over twenty-seven years in the York and Lancaster Regt.; with the 2nd Batt. in the Egyptian War of 1882; Assistant Inspector of Gymnasia, Aldershot, 1888-92; promoted Lt.-Col. 1900, and sent on special service to S. Africa; commanded 11th Batt. York and Lancaster Regt. (New Army Training Reserve), Nov., 1914 to Sep., 1916, when retired again for age.
