Knowledge ought to be acquired, a laudable ambition encouraged; and even the errors of paſſion may produce uſeful experience, expand the faculties, and teach them to know their own hearts. The moſt ſhining abilities, and the moſt amiable diſpoſitions of the mind, require culture, and a proper ſituation, not only to ripen and improve them, but to guard them against the perverſions of vice, and the contagious influence of bad examples.
