Diagrams 1015 to 1018: Longitudinal lines to be laid near the edge of carriageway to indicate to vehicular traffic waiting by vehicles on a side of a length of road is prohibited or restricted.
Note-When one of these types of longitudinal lines is used alone, the short transverse line shall be provided at each end, except that in the case of the sign shown in diagram 1017 the short transverse line may be omitted until 31st December 1966. When two or more of these types of lines are used in continuous sequence, the short transverse line shall be provided at each end of the sequence and also

at any point where the pattern of the longitudinal lines changes
