APPROVED SYMBOLS FOR TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OR FACILITIES
The Regulations, in Schedule 16, items 24 and 33, make reference to "approved symbols". These are symbols which from time to time are introduced by the Department and can be used without special authorisation. Where a non-prescribed symbol is authorised for a specific attraction it does not necessarily become an approved symbol. Those symbols that are approved are shown on working drawings prefixed by "AT" and are available at www.gov.uk/working‑drawings‑for‑traffic‑signs. Symbols for the National Trust for Scotland and for an ancient monument in Wales (CADW) are shown on drawings AT 303.1 and AT 403.1 respectively. These replace the symbols T 303 and T 403 in Schedule 14 to the Regulations.
