The King and His Poeple

Before going further we will introduce you to the King of the country, Daudi Cwa (pronounced Chwa; Daudi means David).

He is a son of Mwanga, and the grandson of Mtesa. I must not pass over Mwanga, the King's father. It will be remembered that he ran away from his capital in 1897, and, after spending a little time with the Germans south of Uganda, escaped from them. He finally joined King Kaberega, his old Munyoro enemy, and they together joined hands with the remnant of the Soudanese mutineers.
