106 STAT. 2622 PUBLIC LAW 102-484—OCT. 23, 1992 (2) The parcel of land referred to in paragraph (1) is a parcel of land located in the State of Washington consisting of approximately 68 acres and comprising the naval family housing area at Paine Field, Snohomish County, Washington, together with improvements thereon. (b) CONSIDERATION. —(1) In consideration for the conveyance of the parcel of land authorized in subsection (a), the person accepting the conveyance shall— (A) pay the Secretary an amount equal to the fair market value of the parcel and any improvements located thereon; or (B) convey to the United States of all right, title, and interest of the person in and to the parcel of land, together with any improvements thereon, located in the area of the Naval Station Puget Sound, Everett, Washington, that the Secretary determines to be suitable for family housing for Naval Station Puget Sound and, if the fair market value of the parcel conveyed by the United States exceeds the fair market value of the parcel conveyed to the United States, pay to the Secretary the amount equal to such excess. (2) The Secretary shall determine the fair market value of the parcel of land conveyed pursuant to subsection (a)(1) and the parcels of land, if any, conveyed pursuant to paragraph (I)(B). (c) NOTICE TO COMMITTEES. —The Secretary may not enter into a conveyance or sale of real property, as the case may be, under this section until the Secretary has notified the congressional defense committees of the details of the proposed conveyance or sale, as the case may be, and a period of 21 days has elapsed follo¥dng the day on which the committees receive the notification. (d) USE OF FUNDS. —(1) Subject to the availability of appropriations for this purpose, the Secretary shall use any amounts paid to the Secreta^ under subsection (b)(1) for the following puiposes: (A) Acquiring in the vicinity of Naval Station Puget Soimd land that is suitable (as determined by the Secretary) for family housing for Naval Station Puget Sound. (B) Acquiring or constructing not more than 350 imits of family housing for Naval Station Puget Soimd. (2) If amounts referred to in paragraph (1) remain imexpended after the acquisition or construction of the family housing referred to in that paragraph, the Secretary shall deposit such unexpended amounts in the account established under section 204(h) of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act (40 U.S.C. 485(h)). (e) DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY.— The exact acreage and legal descriptions of the parcel of land conveyed pursuant to this section shall be determined by surveys satisfactory to the Secretary. (f) ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS.— The Secretary may require such additional terms and conditions in connection with the conveyance under this section as the Secretary considers appropriate to protect the interests of the United States. SEC. 2843. CONVEYANCE OF HASTINGS RADAR BOMB SCORING SITE, NEBRASKA.
